I’m from MN and was able to go to one of the practice rounds of the 2016 Ryder Cup held at Hazeltine in Chaska, MN. I’m also a long time APBA fan and have always been amazed by the accuracy of the game statistics. Replaying the entire 72 actual golfer rounds using all the Master Game rules seemed totally unrealistic until I discovered the Game Caddie. I had to add a course tab for Gopher Lakes that played the course in the configuration used for the Cup, but after that the Game Caddie made the play simple and much quicker than I could have done by hand.
As you can see from my scorecard, the matches didn’t totally follow the actual results but stayed close. In both cases the winner of the Cup was decided by the finish of the ninth match on Sunday with only a half point difference from actual results. In my replay the US beat the Europeans 16 – 12, while at Hazeltine the US won 17 – 11.
Nice job, Dan! The GC was never really designed for match play, but you found a way to make it work. You also figured out that you can create or edit courses to your liking.
