Woods vs. Nicklaus in North Pole Championship II

The 2nd annual APBA North Pole Classic, using the top 16 ranked golf legends, was recently played across six iconic courses. Tiger Woods, played by Scott Mohler, successfully defended his title in the final round against Jack Nicklaus, played by me, Joe Barrett, with a 3 and 2 match play victory at Medinah (APBA’s Second City Golf Course). All matches were played using Game Caddie 6.9.

The four regions, all northern location venues, included Congressional (D.C. Metro), Baltusrol (Garden State), Merion (Wicker Basket), and The Country Club (Brookline). Woods, Player, Nicklaus and Hogan all advanced to “The Four Christmases” region, played at Bethpage Black (Empire). Tiger was the only player to consecutively make it to the “final four,” which was highlighted by Tiger’s hole-in-one on the 145-yard par 14th, adding yet another ace to Scott’s list!

Woods (2000) and Nicklaus (1975) were all square through 12 holes at Medinah until Tiger pulled away, capping the tournament championship with a tap in par putt on the 16th green. The full 2025 North Pole Classic results are shown below.

Tiger won last year’s North Pole Classic, knocking off Lee Trevino (1971) 4 and 3 after the Merry Mex eliminated Nicklaus in the first round.
